We invite our global community of advocates and health workers to help us to share information about the 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health, which is taking place online as a fully virtual event. Please use these distinctive and easily shareable materials to support the Union World Conference.

Background

  • While international travel and large gatherings remain restricted due to COVID-19, The Union has decided that the 51st Union World Conference on Lung Health will take place virtually.
  • This is providing us with a fantastic opportunity to innovate on our conference model that is familiar to the thousands of delegates who have participated in previous Union World Conferences.
  • The conference theme is ‘Advancing Prevention’. Prevention is a key element to ending tuberculosis, reducing tobacco use and improving lung health worldwide. Yet prevention has previously been neglected as a research and operational priority in this sector.
  • The conference theme resonates throughout all aspects of lung health, including air pollution, reducing the harm directly caused by tobacco use, and the impact of co-morbidities including HIV and diabetes, as well as COVID-19.
